goodies in the mail

i have received all of the art supplies i ordered and i can't wait to get busy painting today. of course my favorite color was out of stock! i had a good laugh with the guy at utrecht about it. i love calling places and finding a funny, thoughtful person on the other end of the line. anyhow, i will place a special order for my red iron oxide next week and supersize it!!! today is mail art work day and i'm ready. going to skip the quilt show again this year. it has been a real disappointment the past few years. that pains me to say. need more coffee and a paintbrush!! weeeeeeeeee!!!!!

A Kick in the BE-HIND!!

It is raining!!! Yes, finally the sky has let loose. Now for motivation. I really feel like laying around in my nightie and drinking coffee and not doing much else, except maybe painting. But alas, school books are calling to me and so are my boys! I love everyday. What a joy to be alive, to feel alive! I am working on my mail art and what fun! At first I was frozen (usually my first reaction to a project). Then I started a few things and threw them away (my second reaction to a project). Then I said to myself, "self, you are taking this way too seriously. you are over thinking everything and sucking the life out of your work. STOP IT THIS INSTANT!!!" I did, and now I'm happily painting, stamping, and writing my way through my project. What fun. Nothing like kicking yourself in the be-hind to straighten yourself out.

new swap

November 1 is here! This year is almost over already. I have signed up for a new swap. I have only 4 short weeks to do something amazing. I'm pretty sure I can do something, but the amazing part is in question.

Soccer and Football are winding down for my sons, too. Time to start thinking about the next house project and/or vacation. My husband is almost finished with tiling the master bath. It is gorgeous. I love the colors in the tile.

A front should bring in some much needed rain. The ground is like concrete. With the rain will be cooler temps. Another welcome as it has been rather warm for Oct./Nov.
